About
Maia Saavedra-Weisenhaus is a photographer and scientist from NYC. After studying biology and chemistry at Bard College Maia worked as a neuroscience researcher at Columbia University, where she used brain imaging to investigate how neuronal circuits encode visual information.
In 2020 Maia worked with Virologist Dr. Pernet to develop Covid-19 diagnostic tests at USC.
As a photographer Maia uses chemical fires and light emitting liquids as major elements in her work. She is most interested in bridging fashion, art and science in her creative direction.
